Jane Archbold Pots Exhibition through 2010

Jane Archbold was raised near Hawkshead, and trained as a vet. She wanted a veterinary practice in the Lake District, and whilst awaiting an opportunity, trained as a potter. Some 40 years on, since retiring as a vet - during which time she treated many Herdwicks - she has resumed her pottery. A rolling exhibition of her work, all for sale, will continue at The Ruskin Museum through 2010. Most of the pots feature Herdwick sheep in some way, either individual ewes and lambs, or flocks being gathered on the fells, or spectacularly horned tups.
